Studios

For upper-level undergraduate and graduate students, Advanced Studios include design projects focused on space problems, comprehensive building design, landscape design, building siting and master planning. They can encompass larger programmed areas such as high-density housing and deal with such subjects as development of programmed spaces, structural and environmental systems, building envelope systems, life-safety provisions and sustainability.

The breadth of subject matter covered in the Advanced Studios allows for unique and current topics to be addressed, such as planning for the anticipated 2016 Olympics in Chicago, design and build studios in response to community needs and landscape architecture.

Approximately twenty different studios are offered each semester.
